Hi, my name is Julian Datta and I'm a guitarist and composer.

These days, I mainly play and write for my own band, Kancha Lanka Koalition (debut album "In der Komfortzone", 2021, UNIT Records). Information about this can be found at  juliandatta.com.

In recent years, I've also worked with, among others, performance artist Etoile Chaville ("Josephine Baker - Mirror and Shadow", English Theatre Berlin, 2024; "Postcards from the Labyrinth", Dock 11, Berlin, 2019) and songwriter/producer Frankie Flowerz aka Mohan Das (albums Nightride, 2024, Tales from the Living Room, 2019, and Girlz and Boyz, 2013, all Funkhaus Music).

I've been teaching professionally since 2006, including at Musikschule Meier in Wentorf near Hamburg and Freie Musikschule Lichterfelde West in Berlin.

In 2013, I worked with the music theater ensemble of Argentinian director and composer Santiago Blaum. In 2011, I played classical guitar on Christian Conrad's soundtrack for the film "Westwind."

I have performed on stages throughout Germany, in Austria, Switzerland, Poland, France, Senegal, and the USA with various projects.
